Hello!

I'm getting quotes from dealers for a Honda Fit and Scion xA.

One of the features I want is GPS, and Scion/Toyota dealers ask $2495 for
the GPS, while Honda's dealer -- only $995.

Are the devices vastly different (with Toyota's being a lot more featured),
or Toyota's prices are simply way off?

Thanks!

What else is included in the package? You may not be making an even
comparison. The $995 on the Honda may be for just the GPS while the $2500
on the Toyota may be because you also have to step up a trim level or add
some convenience group.

Even aftermarket GPS systems (the in-dash ones, not handheld) run about
$2000. I don't know about the newest systems, but previous Honda systems
are not one piece. Check that Honda is quoting the whole system (monitor as
well as unit), and not just part of it.
